Baby robins are speckled babes!
Chicago! Three packed days. We started with a beautiful morning at the Montrose bird sanctuary, walked around Nora’s old neighborhood Lakeview with lunch at the famed Chicago Diner, and spent a lovely evening with friends. After donuts for breakfast the next day, we biked along the waterfront to Millennium Park and rode the train back towards vegan deep dish for dinner. Our last day started with hanging with more friends at coworking spaces and spending lunch together, before heading out and driving to Sandusky, Ohio.
Riding elevated in Chicago (aka Days 16 & 17 & 18)
There were large grandstands being taken down as we were in Millennium park, and it turns out the weekend before was the second annual NASCAR Chicago Street Race. It’s the only NASCAR street car race and is on a 3 year trial run. Even with inclement weather delaying it, it seems to have been full of excitement!
Shout out to Kyle for making us homemade bread!
How are there so many tolls?? Indigo is increasingly annoyed with every one.
We spent the day at Cedar Point, known for world class and record breaking roller coasters! We then found real food in Cleveland (with a trans server!), and made the drive into Pittsburgh.
Thrilling Rides of Day 19
Indigo went on their first roller coasters with a corkscrew and a full loop and found them not as scary as expected!
Nora went on the tallest dive coaster in the world, which starts with a 214 feet/65 m 90 degree drop.
The Gate Keeper was crowned as the best ride and was gorgeous to watch.
